July 04, 2009
Coachman recently held its annual race day at the Beverley Race Course on Saturday 4th July, which was attended by members of the Coachman team and the company’s suppliers. Teams from Coachman and its main Scottish dealer, Crossburn Caravans, also competed in the latest round of the ‘Kelso Cup’ – and the Yorkshire team finally triumphed after two defeats in a row!
The ‘Kelso Cup’ is a fun horse racing competition started by the two companies back in 2007. The winner of the cup is based on a points system and is decided by the team who picks the most first, second and third placed horses in each race.
The Coachman team (representing Yorkshire) is made up of Marketing Manager Verle Hibbs, Sales Executive Martin Winfield and his wife, Gwen Winfield. Crossburn’s team is made up of owners Colin and Loraine Chisholm and honorary member Jim Hibbs, Coachman’s Managing Director (who isn’t allowed to be in the Yorkshire team because of his West Bromwich roots!)
Jim Hibbs, Managing Director of Coachman comments on the day:
“Our Beverley racing event is always a fun day out and it’s great to enjoy a day of racing with our valued suppliers. We were lucky to enjoy great weather – but unfortunately, the Scottish team lost out on the Kelso cup – much to the delight of the Yorkshire team members! I’m sure we will win it back next time and even out the score to three wins each.”
