The great British holiday returns!

January 20, 2009

As the value of the pound weakens and the cost of holidaying abroad rises, it seems that the great British caravan holiday is enjoying a surge in popularity! Clubs are reporting an increase in site bookings since this time last year and sales of used caravans have soared over the Christmas period, suggesting new people are entering the market.

In recent years, the traditional British holiday has taken second place to cheap package holidays in Europe. However, as the euro becomes stronger against the pound, growing numbers of Brits are opting to take their annual holiday closer to home.

As a proud British manufacturer, we are delighted that people are discovering this country again and supporting the British tourism industry. This country has plenty to offer holiday makers of all ages - from beautiful, lively beaches to lush, relaxing countryside that's packed with heritage.

Caravans offer UK holiday makers an easy way to explore the country in a 'home from home' environment. With the show season about to start, the team here at Coachman is looking forward to meeting up with new and existing customers to discuss the new 2009 season models.

We know that the Brits enjoy a good holiday and will be determined to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life for at least a week or two despite the credit crunch. So come and visit us at one of the upcoming shows to find out how a Coachman can help you lay back, relax and unwind this summer!

Our next show is The Caravan & Motorhome Show 2009 at the Manchester Central (formerly G.Mex) in Manchester (22 - 25 Jan) - we hope to see you there!
