Crossburn Caravans, Coachman’s number one dealer in Scotland, recently enjoyed success at the Scottish Caravan & Outdoor Show, held at the SECC from the 5th – 8th February 2009. Crossburn sold more Coachman caravans at the show than last year and received a high number of visitors to its new-look stand, despite the current economic conditions.
Crossburn displayed ten Coachman caravans at the show, selling 33 in total with the Coachman Highlander model proving to be the most popular.
The theme of Crossburn’s stand was the ‘Great British Holiday’, featuring deckchairs and sandcastles to encourage visitors to embrace the idea of holidaying closer to home. Many families attended the show and Coachman’s family models sold well, reflecting the growing trend for swapping holidays in Europe for the UK.
Colin Chisholm, owner of Crossburn Caravans explains: “The show at the SECC is very important in Scotland, as it kick-starts the season and gets the public thinking about their summer holiday. We saw an increase in sales of Coachman vans this year, mostly because visitors to the show were looking for a better quality of caravan that is reliable. Coachman makes the best built caravans on the market and has a very loyal customer base – we regularly receive repeat sales year on year. In fact, one of our most loyal customers, Mr Buchanan, bought his 14th Coachman at the show!”
“We sold 22 multi-berth Coachmans at the show, which indicates more families are opting for a caravan holiday. We really wanted to sell the benefits of holidaying in the UK on our stand, in addition to the caravans. The UK has a lot to offer including beautiful countryside, beaches and tourist locations, and we want British holiday makers to re-discover them!”
The Scottish Caravan & Outdoor Show is an annual event that presents the latest Caravans, Motorhomes, Holiday Homes, Accessories, Marine products and Camping products. Members of the Coachman team, including Jim Hibbs, Managing Director, attended the show to give Crossburn Caravans support, as Jim explains: “We are delighted with the success Crossburn had at the SECC. There’s no doubting that times are difficult in the caravan industry, and Crossburn pulled out all the stops to attract visitors with their stand. Crossburn’s sales regularly increase every year and they are dedicated to providing the best customer care, which is why they are our number one dealer in Scotland for the 12th consecutive year. We presented them with a certificate for their success, and we wish them good luck for the rest of the season.”
