Coachman invites Dealers to factory for extensive Product Training

January 29, 2010

Coachman Caravans, one of the UK’s leading caravan manufacturers, recently held a series of product training sessions designed to give its dealers an insight into how the Coachman operation works from start to finish. The aim of the training, which is always in high demand, is to illustrate Coachman’s attention to quality and detail throughout every stage of the production process to new and existing dealers, so this can then be communicated to end user customers.

The sessions were held over 7 days in December and approximately 10 dealers attended each session. The training was co-ordinated and provided by Coachman Sales Executive Martin Winfield, who explained Coachman’s unique selling points throughout each part of the company’s Sutton Fields factory.

Jim Hibbs, Managing Director for Coachman explains: “We strongly believe that our dealers should be given as much support and training as possible, so that they can confidently communicate the benefits of buying a Coachman to prospective customers. We are renowned for our quality and attention to detail throughout the caravan industry however we really want our dealers to be able to give examples of what makes us unique in comparison to other manufacturers.

“We have developed a list of 25 unique Coachman selling points, which we demonstrate throughout the factory tour. These include explaining where our materials and furniture are sourced from and the hard work we put in to testing our caravans before they leave the factory.”

Mark Pinder, of South Lincolnshire Caravans, attended a recent Coachman training session and explains the benefits: “It’s essential for manufacturers to invite dealers to the factory to see exactly how the caravans are made. My visit to Coachman has considerably increased my depth of understanding and product knowledge. There are many subtle differences that make Coachman caravans special and it’s fantastic to see the care and attention paid whilst constructing them.

“By visiting the factory you really sense that the Coachman team is a big family. I was very impressed with the management, efficiency and logistics and certainly feel like I am selling the best caravans in the business.”
