Coachman Golf Tournament

September 11, 2009

On Friday 4th September, 13 members of our factory team took part in the annual Coachman Stapleford Golf Tournament.

The tournament is now in its 11th year and organised by one of our Furniture Labourers, John Speak.

The players compete to win two main trophies – the Coachman Cup and The Richard Stoddart Cup – in honour of one of our employees who sadly passed away in 2002. This year’s triumphant winner was Karl Gilbey, who took away both prestigious trophies.

Other trophy winners included runner up Gordon Young, Russ Kerman who won the ‘nearest to pin’ trophy and John Chappell who won the ‘longest drive trophy’. The player who came last also went home with a prize – a wooden putter, which was graciously accepted by Richard Lutkin.

John Speak comments: “The golf day went really well and seems to be growing in popularity as more members of the Coachman team want to take part each year! I would like to say a big thank you to Jim Hibbs and suppliers Al-ko, Thetford Spinflo, Tyreline and Truma who all helped make the day happen by sponsoring the prizes.”
