Coachman completes purchase of additional units at Hull based factory

Coachman Caravans, one of the UK’s leading caravan manufacturers, has recently purchased four additional industrial units at its Hull based factory, adding a total of 10,996 sq ft to the factory working area. Three of these units house Coachman’s unique, dedicated aftercare department and the purchase completes a phase of significant investment for the company. The factory, which is situated on Sutton Fields Industrial Estate, now covers an area of 7 acres and has a total factory floor space of 80,000 sq ft.

“This year has seen the completion of a £4M investment programme in our production facilities here in Hull, including a 38,000 sq ft factory extension and the recent purchase of these four additional factory units.
“Even though economic times have been difficult throughout 2009, we have focussed strongly upon investing in all areas of the business to safeguard our future – from design right through to production. As a result of our continued investment, our production facilities are now among the most advanced in the industry.”
Hull-based chartered surveyors, Garness Jones, marketed the property and assisted Coachman in the purchase. Dale Gooderham, Surveyor at Garness Jones comments:
“It’s extremely pleasing to see the units go to Coachman, hopefully this is a clear sign that confidence is growing within the industry. We had a great deal of interest in the property from investors all around the country, indicating that many people now view property as a good alternative investment to holding money in the bank.”
